This committee shall independently review and audit the individual reports of the Chapter Treasurer and Recreo committee each year and shall submit a written report of the committee’s findings.
This committee shall identify and promote activities of volunteer service by the Chapter and its individual members for the benefit of their local communities.
The committee shall study all proposed revisions to the Chapter By-laws and make recommendations to the membership after consultation with the Administrative Board.
The committee shall establish relations with other organizations involved in public education at the local level and recognize current and future leaders in the field of education . It shall operate in three parts:
Grants and Awards - Evaluate proposals and programs proposed locally to improve or provide support to public education;
Lauretta Woodson - Annually identify a professional educator and a support staff individual for recognition by their peers.
Scholarship - Annually solicit applications from our school districts by candidates planning to enter a career in education. Any awards shall be determined on a competitive basis and approved by the Administrative Board. It also shall promote contributions to the Chapter's Scholarship Fund.
This committee shall gather and disseminate information to the members which they may need for their well-being; and shall render service to individual members needing help in solving the financial and personal problems of retirement.
The committee shall inform the members of state and national legislative issues and organize members of the Chapter in support of PASR’s legislative programs.
L-PEC shall inform the members of the positions of candidates for national and state offices on issues relating to the interests of retired public school employees;
Encourage and facilitate bi-partisan participation of individual members in political campaigns;
Assist the Legislative Committee in the performance of their duties; and
Encourage member contributions to PASR's L-PEC Fund.
The committee shall identify and encourage retired school employees, their spouses, and other interested individuals to enroll as active or associate members of both the Chapter and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR).
The Committee shall establish regular contact with members via publication of a newsletter or other forms of written communication.
Publication of the Chapter newsletter shall be in both print media as well as electronic formats.
This committee shall plan and conduct programs on various aspects of retirement planning. Such programs shall be open to all school employees and their spouses, with special efforts made to enlist those persons who may be planning to retire within the next several years.
Co-chaired by the President-Elect, this committee shall solicit, evaluate, and recommend individuals and/or groups to present programs of entertainment and information to the membership at the Chapter’s Fall and Spring luncheon meetings.
Additionally, this Committee will plan an annual event at which new retirees will be honored.
This committee shall communicate the activities of the Chapter to its members and the public by establishing contact with and providing information to the local news media.
They shall also submit articles for publication in the Chapter Newsletter.
This committee shall plan, arrange, and conduct events for the general membership.
The committee shall promote the events planned by other Chapters and the State Chapter to our membership.
The committee chair shall submit the books for audit at the close of the fiscal year.
This committee shall consist of three sub-committees and shall coordinate their work:
Cards, Memorial Honor Fund/Necrology, and Social Services
This Committee shall encourage contributions to the PASR Memorial Honor Fund in memory of or in honor of members of the Chapter, and establish programs to assist members who, due to illness or old age, are confined to their homes, hospitals, or nursing homes.
This committee shall plan, promote, and conduct activities for socialization with other DCPASR retirees. It shall be open to all members and spouses.
A special effort shall be made to invite prospective retirees to attend to become acquainted with our membership and our Chapter.
A schedule of events should be set for 6 months at a time with a point person identified for each event.
